THEMES & THINGS

I’d like to give some shout outs to free WordPress themes & Icon sets that I’m either using presently or have used in the past.

Current Theme:

Fullscreen 2.4.3 by Thad Allender
A multimedia theme framework for WordPress by Graph Paper Press.

I’m having a lot of fun with this theme since the primary content of this site is photos and other multimedia- type content. If I wrote more, I’d certainly want to pursue a less visually-enhanced layout and look. But, that’s clearly not the case here, since my thoughts are usually better expressed in photos than through written word.

AutoFocus is a WordPress theme specifically for photographers looking for a simple and elegant way to display their work online.

I had this theme up for just a few weeks before reverting back to Fullscreen. I really liked the front page layout for new posts, but had to do quite a bit of tweaking for the standard pages to look just right. I’ll definitely try this theme on again once I have more time to play with the CSS.

Simple, classy and beautiful social networking icon set. I encourage you to check out this artist’s other icon sets. Graphics are sharp, vibrant and very creative. My personal favorite is the Halloween Avatar set. With my limited experience in Illustrator, I have nothing but admiration for someone who can put together icons and make them look professional and fun to use.
