On the Road Again

Sunset in my side view mirror. Appreciating the beauty behind us, but ever moving forward.
A few shots from the epic road trip of epic-ness. From the West Coast of the US of A to the East Coast! Along the way, we saw tons of agriculture, plenty of wildlife (both alive and not alive on the side of the road), and even some landmarks! I ate at Big Boy for the first time (woof), got my first pair of real cowboy (cowgirl?) boots and had some bonafide Southern cookin’ on the Mississippi.

Watering systems along the side of the road in Texas.

Photography can't quite capture the beauty of this natural wonder, the Grand Canyon.
Isn’t She Grand

The Grand Canyon.
I’ve confirmed it: This canyon is indeed grand, and America is indeed beautiful.
Softer Red
Softer play with the same bouquet. Let a dozen roses never go to waste.
But he that dares not grasp the thorn,
Should never crave the rose.

Clouds Rolling Back

A very quick shot from a friend’s apartment in the city after an intense thunderstorm & hail shower. This is a very experimental shot using HDR. I’m pleased with the effect on parts of the photo and recognize that some tweaking is necessary for this photo to really look nice. I’m low on time for hobbies these days, but wanted to share something. I really like the reflection of the colorful clouds in the rainwater on the roof of the building.
In case you couldn’t tell, I’m also toying around with a new theme. I’ll be changing some settings, tweaking some of the look/feel of the page, and once I get it settled, I’ll be writing a new theme review and adding a link to the page where you can download the theme.
PS- It’s August! Whoa, there, summer. Slow your roll; I’m not done with you yet!
