Kirsten Cartoski: Photos & Fun

ABOUT

This is a personal website for Kirsten Cartoski.

I’ve been building websites since I was in 7th grade. My first site was built in Microsoft Word and was dedicated to the musical Cats, by Andrew Lloyd Webber. Thankfully, my web design skills have evolved and are continually evolving with the state of the Web today. (Can’t say much for my musical tastes, though: I’ll argue the genius of Cats till I’m red in the face!)

Unlike my 7th grade Cats website, this current site is an anything goes kind of space. I do a bit of photography these days, a little bit of sketching & drawing, a bit of web design here and there, and lot of thinking aloud about stuff I like. Stuff I like includes comics, movies, working out, nutrition, nerdy stuff and silly/pointless YouTube videos. There’s no guarantee you’ll see any posts of length on any of these topics, but there’s always a chance I might sit down and type something out.

I’ll be playing around with a few new designs for this site as the content evolves. Most of the designs are used with a free license from sites that offer free WordPress themes. In the near future, I’ll make a page with the designs I tried out and a review of my experience with the design and the sites that provided the design. This is mostly for my own reference, but someone out there might find my notes useful!

And a final thought… This always happens: I find time to build and skin a site, and then life gets so busy that I barely have time for updating. July and August of this year promise to be hectic, but with fortune’s favor, I’ll have more time for updating this site come the end of summer 2011. Thanks for stopping by! And if you’d like to connect with me, find out how.
